One movie we should request on DVD from 20th Century Fox is "Violent Saturday".
With a screenplay from Sydney Boehm and directed by the much under-rated Richard Fleischer, this film is an interesting blend of various themes found in many Hollywood movies in the 1950s: pacificism and its limitations, romantic melodrama, sexual inhibitions, crime and society - and probably a few I can't remember!
I would love to see a proper enhanced wide-screen DVD of "Violent Saturday".

Sit tight. I hear from the US that "Violent Saturday" is scheduled for release sometime later in 2007.
As soon as I hear of a release date, it will be posted on this website. |

I have since the last post bought a DVD of Violent Saturday from Spain. The picture quality is quite good but it is not anamorphic so it does not occupy the whole one's screen.
Still, as I like this film a lot, a flawed DVD is better than no DVD at all.
