SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. Universal Pictures have arranged for a public screening of HOLIDAY INN to be shown at the Everyman Cinema in Hampstead on Friday, 20th December.
Fred Astaire's daughter, Ava Astaire Mackenzie ( who appears in the new DVD )will speak about her father's work in musicals.

If any of you Laureate regulars can make it on Friday, we'll be glad to meet up with you and exchange views on DVDs past present and future. Come along and bring your friends.

Ken Barnes

P.S. If we are unable to secure a print of "Holiday Inn," the substitute film will be "The Band Wagon" starring Fred and Cyd Charisse.

If only it were 1 week later when we'll be down
from Manchester visiting our daughter.

Hope it's a huge success.

I went home to Lancashire at just the wrong moment it seems. I would have loved to be there. Is there no chance of showing The Band Wagon some other time anyway? It's one of the best musicals EVER!
